Westwood is a happy, thriving community-based school located in the heart of the town of Buckley, Flintshire. We currently have 183 learners on board, from Nursery to Year 6, with additional provision for Early Entitlement. We are extremely proud of our work as a community school!  

At Westwood Community Primary School, we are proud to be a highly inclusive and caring community where every child and family is valued and supported. Our most recent Estyn inspection recognised the strong relationships at the heart of our school, effective leadership and clear direction, and our commitment to pupils’ well-being and progress from their individual starting points. Inspectors highlighted our positive reading culture, engaging curriculum, meaningful pupil voice and the strong partnerships we have built with families and the wider community. We are committed to continuous improvement and, working together, we strive to ensure that all children feel safe, confident and inspired to achieve their very best. 

This website only offers you a glimpse of what we have to offer.  The best way to experience our qualities is to arrange a school visit, via the school office.  Visitors always notice how friendly and caring our learning environment is and have also passed comment on how well the staff know every child by name, need and nature.  We understand that all children deserve to be happy, recognised and praised and also that individuals must be given every opportunity to achieve their personal goals.
