Salut! 

Welcome to our page focusing on the fabulous French that takes place at Westwood. 

As you will know, our children (and staff) are committed to learning French as part of Modern Foreign Languages in the New Curriculum for Wales 2022.

Westwood has been a pilot school for the Global Futures Project from GwE since September 2019, which has been all about primary schools trialling out the teaching of modern foreign languages which is going to be introduced formally to the curriculum in September 2022.

Through our journey since beginning the pilot, we have had fantastic experiences across the school in our new language learning. We can even call ourselves trilingual or even multilingual pupils now! Our staff love French just as much as the children and we are excited to update this page with all of the exciting things that we have been up to during our journey. The whole school impressed during a recent learning walk —enthusiastic and confident learners, in a range of different year groups in many scenarios. Formidable enfants!!
