Please send in your plastic bottle tops

The Westwood Eco Committee would like your plastic bottle tops please.

As part of a national initiative, with an opportunity to win a £5,000 playground makeover, the Eco Committee are organising a 'Message in a Bottle' competition and want you to send in as many plastic bottle tops as possible.

Through this project, our pupils will discover how to see the treasure in the waste we produce by creating an art mural or sculpture, inspired by and showcasing the creatures they’d love to protect using the very waste that harms them. Children will make an inspired piece of art using plastic bottle tops, with the aim of sharing an important environmental message about wildlife and the effects plastic waste has on it.

Message in a Bottle Top art project shares an inspiring and important message for pupils about turning trash into treasure. They learn about wastefulness happening right under their noses and learn to see and create beauty out of the things they have around them. Children learn how to make a real difference in the world using creative and imaginative vision.

Any plastic bottle tops you can send into school will be very much appreciated and will be put to good use in the project.

With many thanks,

The Westwood Eco Committee
