Derwen class - Mrs Donaghy (Head of Foundation Phase) 2023 - 2024

Dear Parents,

I hope you all had a good half term. It was great talking to the children and finding out about all of the things they have been up to. This half term we have a new topic called Discover.

In LLC, we will be looking at the book Harry and the Bucketful of Dinosaurs, in Maths we are studying multiplication and division. Our Humanities focus will be on time travel with a focus on Dinosaurs and we will look at life cycles in Science. There are lots of exciting activities planned with the topic and the children are already excited about the dinosaur theme.

Please could I remind you to read as much as possible with your child at home and make sure your books are coming into school. Mrs Hughes comes in on a Tuesday and Thursday to read and we are getting less and less books each week. Also, the children will continue their weekly spellings, so please make sure they practice these at home before their test on a Friday.

PE remains on a Wednesday and if we have any additional PE sessions with Mr Kelly on a Monday, I will let you know via Seesaw.
